From Charlotte Street

We live on Charlotte Street. We live in the city. We love our neighborhood. We love our boys. Our house is usually a wild mess; full of wrestling children and flying footballs. We are so far from perfect and so thankful that we don't have to be because we serve a God was and is perfect for us.

Bram Mac 4 Months

Bram Mac

Happy 4 Month Birthday Bram!

Stats:
Weight = 16. 15oz lbs (90%tile), two weeks before he went to Dr and was 17.1 lbs so he lost a little weight when he was sick (I don't think losing a few ounces is a big deal for this guy)
Height  = 25 1/2 (75%tile)
Head Circumference =  16 1/2 (25%)

Skills:
*Bram is getting really good at pulling his legs up under him while on his belly
*laughing and cooing
*babbling to mommy, daddy, and brother
*great head control
*sits up with mommy's help (pretty far from doing it on his own)
*can lay him down for nap while he is still asleep in his own crib, sleeps for about 45 mins at each nap

Struggles:
*Still eats two or three times at night, but I can't complain because it only takes about 10 mins and he is back to bed!
*I think he might be starting to teeth early. Titus had theeth by four months, and poor Bram seems like his are hurting. He is drooling and chewing on everything!

Sweet Bram,
You are growing so fast! You are not my little newborn anymore. I love getting to spend so much time with you. It makes my heart so happy when you giggle or smile at me. When big brother takes his afternoon nap we usually get at least an hour of time just me and you before your nap. I cherish that time. It's special to have a few moments to just get to know you and focus all my attention on you. I love what a cuddle bug you are. Your eyes light up when you see your big brother! I can't wait to watch you two play together. You and daddy love to just look at each other and smile. Those are special moments. We love you sweet Bam bam (what T calls you).
Love you.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween From Us to You...Sorry it's almost mid november (better late than never)

Thy Children will swell the cry

Weekend after weekend, during football season, I would go to K-State football games. Going to games started first with my parents and then as a college student. Weekend after weekend I would sign the K-State alma mater:

I know a spot that I love full well,
‘Tis not in forest nor yet in dell;
Ever it holds me with magic spell,
I think of thee, Alma Mater.
K-S-U, we’ll carry thy banner high.
K-S-U, long, long may thy colors fly.
Loyal to thee, thy children will swell the cry.
Hail, hail, hail, Alma Mater

I've always loved singing it because I love football, I love pregame, and I love the cats. Cheesey I know!A few weekends ago Matt and I took Titus to his first EVER K-State game! I'm not going to lie I got a little emotional when we sang the alma mater and Matt and I looked at each other on the part "Loyal to thee, thy children will swell the cry". The emotional moment was less about forcing my children to love K-State football (though I will do that), it was more about getting the chance to share something that is special to us with our son. I totally get now why my family is 4 generations of K-Staters, why they brainwash us all to go to school there, and why Manhattan is such a special place.

Ultimately, First and FOREMOST, I want my children to follow Jesus passionately, but if they love K-State as well...that's great with me.
Here are the highlights of the weekend. I took these with  my phone so they are not the best pictures but at least you get some shots of Titus and Bram.
Titus watching the homecoming parade with Gigi. His first parade. He wasn't quite sure what to think with lots of 18-20 somethings yelling weird greek names at him and throwing candy.

On the left is T enjoying his first tailgate K-State style (loud music, good Kansas Beef, and lots of sweet treats), and on the right is my sister and I cuddling up with Bram pre-game style.

In awe

A little post victory dinner!
